Breaking: APC Primaries: 34 States plus FCT adopt delegate election option

Thirty four states of the federation, including Abuja, Nigeria's Federal Capital have adopted the option of delegates primaries for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming primaries to field candidates for next year's general elections. This development is on the heels of an emergency meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday by the caucus of the party. Part of the reasons for the decision as reliably gathered, was because the party was yet to authenticate the actual number of its members, and that there was not enough time to do so with the primaries just few weeks away. It was further gathered that the only two states that have maintained their stands on Direct Primaries are Lagos and Edo States. According to sources within the party hierarchy, states that still want to opt for direct primaries can write to the national headquarters of the party for deliberations and subsequent consideration, depending on whether they have the capacity to do so. Ankpa 2019: Youths/Women groups Endorsed Hon. Ahmed Mohammed For Second term.

The Ankpa Youth Progressive Movement, AYPM, an NGO, which is a coalition of about 20 Youths/Women group across Ankpa LGA and in diaspora on Sunday 26th August 2018 passed a vote of confidence and total support for member representing Ankpa I State Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, and endorsed him to re-contest in the 2019 general elections. Ali Mohammed, the chairman of the movement, disclosed this in Ankpa at a rally, which was attended by youths and women from the five wards under Ankpa I State Constituency. “We have met today and pass a vote of confidence on him. And we fully endorsed him to recontest in the 2019 general elections. This is due to his excellent performance in office so far. He has exposed so many politicians who have represented us in the past". He said. Executives of the All Progressive Congress - Ankpa Ward 2, paid a solidarity visit to the Member representing Ankpa I State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of Kogi State house of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed today Wednesday 22nd Aug, 2018 at his home town in Abache-Ankpa LGA to pass a vote of confidence on him and endorse him for second term. The Deputy Majority Leader of Kogi State house of Assembly and member representing Ankpa I State Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed facilitates with Muslim Ummah on Eid-El-Kabir celebration. In his brief goodwill message, he prayed fervently for those things that would promote unity of the state and the country at large, and against things that threaten the existence of Nigeria. He also noted that Eid-el- Kabir symbolises sacrifice, discipline, faith, and the spirit of give and take, love of God and love for our neighbour, obedience to and total submission to God our creator. In his word's; "Beyond the sacrifice, we should also not relent in praying for peace, unity and religious tolerance, which are essential to sustaining the glory of our dear nation,”. Never in the history of the people of Ankpa 1 Constituency, in Kogi state have the people really felt ably represented like the present dispensation of which Hon Ahmed Ahmed is the Deputy Majority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly. He is a man that is close to the Executive arm of government and his proximity to the governor has made it easier for him to draw development projects to his people.
