Eid El Kabir: Kogi Deputy Speaker felicitate with Muslims Ummah, urges faithfuls to emulate prophet Ibrahim's virtues

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed congratulated Muslims all across the Country, particularly faithfuls in Kogi State and Ankpa 1 constituency as we celebrate Eid El Kabir, while admonishing them to offer prayers for the country and Kogi State. According to him, Eid-el-Kabir is a time of spiritual reflection and self-improvement, urging them to imbibe the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim, who, in obedience to God’s directive, was ready to sacrifice his only son. He admonished the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the significance of the celebration, which he said bordered on encouraging piety, sacrifice and love, noting that without these, no state or society could advance. "The significance of the season should be beyond the festivities. Kogi State Deputy Speaker urges the Government to support Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, three other stations with Operational Vehicles.

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed appealed to the State Government to provide Operational Vehicles to Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation and other media houses respectively. The legislator who made his contribution on the floor of the house on Wednesday 22nd July, 2020 while the house committee chairman on Information, Strategy and Publicity, Hon. Musa Jimoh Omiata submitted a report of the committee on its oversight visit to Kogi State Radio Broadcasting Corporation FM 94.1, Lokoja and the three other booster stations at Ochaja, Egbe and Otite respectively. The Deputy Speaker said they is a need for each station to have an operational vehicle in addition with the one suggested for the Director General, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation. Kogi Deputy Speaker, donates Ram, food items and money to constituents for Sallah festivals.

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and legislator representing Ankpa 1 constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed today in his hometown Abache - Ankpa LGA distributed Sallah Ram, food  items and cash to the people of his constituency. He said that the gesture was to assist his constituents at this trying times and  urged the beneficiaries to use the items to improve their standard of living and possibly assist others. According to him, the Sallah package distributed to various communities  include 200 bags of 25kg of rice, 100 bags of 25kg of millets, over 300 tubers of yam, Rams which were distributed to some beneficiaries and an undisclosed amount of money. The lawmaker also assured the people of his constituency of sound and quality representation at the state legislature in the interest of peace and development. The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onoja in the company of the Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed pays the last respect to the Late, Chief Justice Shaibu Atadoga who died on Sunday June 2nd 2020 after a brief illness. The late Justice Ibrahim Shaibu Atadoga who was the President of the Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal is a native of Omala L.G.A, he was instrumental to the creation of the Customary Court of Appeal in Kogi State. The Deputy Speaker further stated that Justice Atadoga possess unrival work ethic, indeed Kogi has loss great asset, the late legal luminary as an outstanding legal practitioner and an extremely strong voice in national affairs who carried itself with remarkable distinction, and the society will forever acknowledged its leadership role. Ahmed Mohammed congratulated the acting rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo for investing his wealth of academic, administrative and professional experiences in manners that would benefit staff and students of Kogi Poly Lokoja within three months in office. Dr. Ogbo, a man with robust academic and working credentials, hit the ground running immediately he assumed office, he embarked on certain radical review of some policies and actions and giving the polytechnic a new facelift.
