HON. AHMED MOHAMMED: DIVINE ANSWER TO ANKPA QUESTION

Let me start by saying; The Proof of Work is Result. Ankpa is one of the 21 local governments in Kogi State of Nigeria. Politically, economically, socially etc. It is very strategic in the viability of the state.

Kogi State has the second largest deposits of coal in Nigeria after Enugu state, and it is found only in Ankpa local government of the state. Coal is the second most valued mineral resources in Nigeria after Black Gold (Crude Oil).

But bad leadership or putting a square peg in a round hole and vice versa has been the bane of her development for many years.

Meanwhile, before I talk about the Ankpa question, let me delve into the national question as a prelude to understanding it. Like the Ankpa question, the national question has been on, since the second republic till date. And the inability to answer the questions as a nation and people is responsible for the bulk of Nigeria's problems.

The national question boarders on restructuring —Under which there are questions of; Fiscal federalism a.k.a resource control, state creation and state police, devolution of powers etc.

Almost they says doesn't count, but that not withstanding, former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with his 2014 national confab almost provides answers to Nigeria's lingering national question. But due to his nature, he missed the divine opportunity to write his name in gold.

A similar opportunity that Hon. Ahmed Mohammed is judiciously utilizing to providing answers to Ankpa question.

Speaking further, unlike Nigeria, Ankpa is homogeneous in nature. From economic to social activities down to culture and tradition, the people of Ankpa local government have everything in common except for one thing —Religion.

But with the high level of religious tolerance among the indigenes and the settlers, religion has little or no role to play in the day to day interactions of her people. Therefore, unlike Nigeria, Ankpa has no question of resource control, district creation or district vigilante.

What Then Is Ankpa Question?

Ankpa question borders on her been where it ought to be, and by who will it get there. This is where Hon. Ahmed Mohammed comes in as a divine answer to Ankpa question.

Historically, Ankpa has produced men who had held position of authorities in different capacities. From state house of assembly to federal house of representative to Senate members, and down to local government chairmen and administrators.

Ironically however, none of these men in their various capacity has anything sustainable to show except Hon. Ahmed Mohammed. Although I heard on a lighter note, that one of them provided a public latrine ( Lol) or is it a public toilet? I need a confirmation anyway... For the people of Ankpa as a constituency project.

Ankpa local government as a matter of priority doesn't need public toilet because the least building in Ankpa is with a toilet. Therefore, who was the public toilet meant to serve? His guest? That was a misplaced priority and mockery of democracy.

Moving on, statistically speaking, in his quest to moving Ankpa to where it ought to be in order to answer the lingering "Ankpa Question" that has been on for many years, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has initiated, executed and commissioned so many projects including social welfare packages/programmes to the glory of God, and for the benefit of Ankpa indigenes.

On assumption of office, and as a sign of his readiness for leadership before thrown his hat into the ring, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed first and formost unveiled an initiative known as "Water For All". An initiative that has brought about a paradigm shift from representative idleness to representative activeness. As all the elected members from Ankpa axis, from state to federal are now in the race to out-provide each other with water for their constituents. But as the pacesetter, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed remain the grand master in the provision of "Water For All".

Secondly, in the area of women and youths empowerment, I stand to be corrected, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed was the first member of any house (State or Federal) to establish multiple centers for skill acquisitions in the political history of Ankpa local government.

Thirdly, because of his believe in education for all as well, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has donated text books to many public schools to bridging the gap between the children of the haves and the have nots.

In addition, based on public convictions about his love for education, an open letter was written to him through Facebook to come to the rescue of a particular public school named Young Muslim Congress (YMC) Secondary School Ankpa.

A call he answered practically by been in that school for an on-the-spot-assessment in less than 24 hours (Thursday afternoon 1st Feb., —2nd Feb., 2018 Friday morning). An action that defines the true meaning of rapid response.

Lest I forget, what is rapid response? Rapid response is a response to a distress/emergency call within the emergency hour. Therefore, on a lighter note, I will advice the head of rapid response unit of Nigeria police force (NPF) to seek an expert advice on emergency management from Hon. Ahmed Mohammed rather than spending the tax payers money in sending the officers and men of that unit to Canada, UK or US for training and retraining on rapid response (A crash course with Hon. Ahmed Mohammed will do).

Fourthly, in his efforts to ensure food security and wealth creation, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed became the first public figure from Ankpa local government to establish a farm in Ankpa with a State-of-the-art modern equipments. A farm with the capacity to generates over a thousand small and medium scale entrepreneurs when completed and commissioned God willing by the third quarter of 2018.

Permit me to say, that Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has taken representation to it level of practice in the developed world with the number of project he has initiated, executed and commissioned so far, and still counting.

Having said that, I am not oblivion of the fact that professional critics, pessimists, cynics, wailing wailers and doubting Thomases would rather have people explained to, that the money he uses in achieving the giant strides was from the constituency allowances.

I put it to you Mr. Critic and the rest of you guys, how many house of assembly, representative and senate members, local government chairmen and administrators has Ankpa produced before Hon. Ahmed Mohammed became a member of Kogi state house of assembly? Where are their constituency projects? Were they not paid constituency allowances? What about the local government chairmen and administrators who operates on budget? Where are their projects?

Until you answer these questions, you will agree with me that Hon. Ahmed Mohammed is truly the divine answer to Ankpa question. The man who will take Ankpa out of the woods and place her on the road to greatness. If you ask me, I will say; ANKPA JOURNEY TO GREATNESS BEGINS WITH AHMED AHMED.

Finally, politically the people of Ankpa local government have been living in despair until the emergence of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed that their hope is gradually returning.

But it is ironically comical or comically ironic that people whom at best are only fit to be the campaign coordinators or directors to Hon. Ahmed Mohammed are the ones indicating interest to vy against him. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed would have prefer a "Better Challenger" but then, they and their supporters have every rights to dream.

And like I said in the first paragraph of this write up, I repeat, The Proof of Work is Result. Therefore, when next you visit Ankpa as a diasporan, I urge you to randomly call on any available bike man (Okada Rider) and ask him to take you to 5 or more places of project initiated, executed and commissioned by Hon. Ahmed Mohammed. I can assure you it won't cost you more than a dollar to see 10 or more places of such projects including skill acquisition centers.
