A federal high court Sitting in Lagos has ordered the remand of Peter Nwaoboshi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator from Delta state, in Ikoyi prison, Lagos. The remand order follows the arraignment of the senator by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of fraud. Last week, the anti-graft agency arrested Nwaoboshi whose name is on the looters list recently released by the federal government. Nwaoboshi represents Delta north senatorial district in the upper legislative chamber. The EFCC arraigned Nwaoboshi over an alleged N805 million fraud. He was arraigned on a two-count charge of money laundering and fraud alongside two companies namely: Golden Touch Construction Project Ltd and Suiming Electrical Ltd. He pleaded not guilty to the charges. In the charge No: FHC/L/117C/2018, the EFCC alleged that the accused committed the offences between May and June 2014 in Lagos. Unidentified persons on Wednesday invaded the Senate Chambers and disrupted the ongoing proceedings. The invaders snatched the mace and took it away. Reports say the men are supporters of Senator Ovie Omo- Agege who was suspended last week. Contractors handling various projects in Kogi State have been tasked to reciprocate the good gesture of the Kogi State Administration by keeping faith with payment obligations and delivering their projects on schedule. Ahmed Mohammed has condoled with the Family of Late Hajiya Salamatu Wada over the death of a mother,  a highly religious person and a woman who possessed all motherly qualities and invested in everyone around her, Hajiya Salamatu Wada. The Deputy Majority Leader while describing the death of Iye Adibé as painful, also said the deceased was an industrious, virtuous and religious woman. Her demise was not only a loss to her family but also to the entire state. “May Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and the family the strength to bear the loss,’’ he said.
