Kogi: House Committee on Works orders speedy completion of road projects in the State.
Contractors handling various projects in Kogi State have been tasked to reciprocate the good gesture of the Kogi State Administration by keeping faith with payment obligations and delivering their projects on schedule.
The Chairman, House Committee on Works, Infrastructure, Communication and Job Creation, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed of Ankpa 1 State Constituency, with members of the committee on a familiarization visit to the Honorable Commissioner for works, Engineer Abubakar Abdulmuminu Sadiq yesterday Friday April 13th, 2018, held a roundtable meeting with the Commissioner, Permanent Secretaries, Directors and senior staff of the ministry.
The Chairman, who is meeting the ministry for the first time since he took over as the Committee head, commended the effort of the Honorable Commissioner, but decried slow pace of job handled by contractors. The Commissioner for works, Engr. AA Sadiq expressed the readiness of the state to complete the ongoing road projects across the three senatorial district with modern facilities to be able to compete with others across the country. "In Kogi East, the contractors handling the Ankpa township road, TEC Engineering received a boost with the payment of outstanding obligations and are expected to start work by Monday. His Excellency the Executive Governor has ordered that the road, amongst others be completed before heavy rainfall starts". He said
Honorable Members present are the Vice Chairman House Committee on Works, Honorable Victor Ade Omofaiye from Ijumu, and the Majority Leader Honorable Hassan Abdullahi Bello from Ajaokuta State Constituency.
