Easter: Kogi Deputy Speaker greet Christians faithfuls

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency, Rt. Honourable Ahmed Mohammed has sent his congratulatory message to Christian faithful across his constituency and kogi state on the celebration of Easter, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, while urging them to use the period to pray for peace and unity in the state and county.

The Deputy Speaker in his felicitation message congratulated Christians for the successful forty-day Lenten season for the atonement of sins and salvation of mankind, which he said Easter represents. He maintained that Easter is the hallmark of Christianity, stressed that the celebration of Christ’s resurrection and salvation offers faithfuls a great opportunity to come closer to God and promote all virtues that would enhance peace, love, unity and progress of the state and country.
Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed called on his constituents to reflect soberly and intensify prayers for God’s lessons of sacrifice, love and peace. His words; “As the Lenten season draws to a close to herald Easter, I charge christian faithfuls, to imbibe Christ’s virtues and make them the template for everyday living.

This Easter period coincides with the holy Month of Ramadan - a signal to the faith communities to unite, speak, act and pray in one accord for a greater Kogi State. I celebrate with you all.

 Congratulations.
