Coalition of Nigerian Union Of Teachers, Pensioners & LG Employees Endorses Muritala Yakubu Ajaka


Nigerian Union Of Teachers(NUT), Association of Pensioners and Local Government Employees Kabba/Bunu Branch endorses Ajaka ahead of Kogi November Governorship poll. The Coalition of Nigerian Union Of Teachers (NUT), the Association of Pensioners and the Local Government Employees in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area endorses the Candidate of the Social Demoractic Party (SDP) Hon Murtala Yakubu Ajaka. 

The Group which comprises of Executives  of Teachers Union, local government staffs and the retirees of Kabba/Bunu Local Government area of Kogi state was received on behalf of Hon Ajaka by the Chairman G-1 Group Abuja, Alh Prince Gowon Enenche, a close ally of the SDP candidate. 

Speaking on the endorsement of Hon Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, Comrade Michael Alelemi the NUT chairman Kabba/Bunu branch said the teachers union in Kabba didn't hesitate on the thought of the adoption of Ajaka as their candidate, stating on the untold hardship the teachers, the local government workers and indeed the Kogi state civil servants has been subjected to by the current administration of Kogi state. The NUT chairman also lamented on the issue of percentage salaries for local government workers, he stated that only a fool will vote for consolidation or continuation of hardship.

Comrade Michael stress further that his union at the local government level have juxtaposed all the major candidates from various political parties and have come to conclusions that only Ajaka possessed what it takes to get Kogi state on the right track.

Speaking on behalf of the pensioneers and Local Government Employees from Kabba/Bunu Local Government area, Madam Marry stated that the entire pensioneers and Local Government staffs of Kabba/Bunu are all ready to support and vote massively for the SDP candidate, Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka.The aged woman who is a retiree said they have confidence in Ajaka and he will live up to expectations.

Responding on behalf of the SDP candidate, Alh Prince Gowon Enenche assured the group that Ajaka will bring an end to the percentage salaries, lack of pension and other unfortunate matters relating to payments of the civil servants and pensioneers in the state. Alh. Gowon also stated that the Welfare of the civil servants and the pensioneers will be among the top most priorities of the incoming administration of Murtala Yakubu Ajaka by the special grace of God, urging the group to support and vote Ajaka in November for their good and for the betterment of Kogi state in general.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
