Since the Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Ankpa I State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, HON. AHMED MOHAMMED took over the mantle of leadership to representing his people in the Kogi State House of Assembly Lokoja, has moved very important motions on issues bothering Ankpa LGA and Kogi State, sponsored bills,   which when signed to law have direct impact on the people of Kogi State?

Some of his bills and motions include;

From February 28th 2018 To March 6th 2018.

February 28/2018
1. House Bill 18: A bill to for a law to make provisions for the establishment of Celuke college of health and technology, Ojiapata.

Thursday 1st MARCH 2018:
2. House Bill 19: A Bill for a law to establish Kogi state youths development commission and other matter connected there with 2017.

Tuesday 6 MARCH, 2018
3. A Bill for a law to ensure full integration  of people living with disability, eliminate all forms of discrimination and establish Kogi state disability commission to ensure their  inclusion into the society 2018.

This are bills target the welfare of the common people. (Last one was on people with disabilities)

LIST OF MOTIONS MOVED ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE

1. Motion calling on the state government to review the awarded Ankpa Township Road by the immediate past administration of Capt Idris Ichala Wada to be re-awarded

2. Motion calling on the state government to intervene in the high rate of insecurity in the state.

3. Motion calling on the state government to direct the ministry of water resources to tackle urgently the challenges of inadequate water supply in Ankpa local government area.

4. Motion calling on the state government to as a matter of urgency intervene in the operations of Ankpa Zonal Hospital and to make it functional.

5. Motion calling on the state government to rehabilitate, equip and ensure efficient functioning of vocational and Technical Colleges in Kogi State.

6. Motion calling on the state government to begin construction of Abache-Okenyi-Ojibogo-Ejinya Efofe-Aguyaya road in Ankpa Local Government Area

7. Motion: A call to "Action" to begin sensitization and immunization against Hepatitis C as it affects other states.

8. Motion calling on the state government to rehabilitate Community Grammar School, Opulega-Ankpa LGA.

9. Motion calling on the state government to immediately declare a state of emergency on all government public schools in Kogi State 

10. Matter of urgent public importance calling on the state government to come to the aid of Ankpa people over erosion menace. 

11. Matter of urgent public importance appealing to the Kogi State government to foot the medical bill of Mr. Suleiman Usman Adejoh who had a spinal cord injury.

The Science Quiz Competition organised for Students in Ankpa LGA at St. Charles College, was greeted by so many people who troop in to see the display of academic knowledge of our teeming youths in Ankpa LGA. The competition was strongly contested among Ten (10) secondary schools viz; Comsaldocg’s College Ankpa, Aleka Academy Ankpa, Global College Ankpa, St Charles College Ankpa, Redeemer Secondary School Ankpa, Community Sec. School, Demonstration Sec School, Unity Comprehensive Sec school, Dynamic International Group of School, Ankpa LGA Special Day Sec. School, and Govt. Girls Sec. School Okaba. The Science subjects selected for the quiz programmes are Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
