Breaking news: ISA UNIJOS Honours Hon. Ahmed Mohammed

Igala Students Association - ISA, University of Jos, Yesterday Wednesday 8th May, 2019 honors the Deputy Majority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly and Member Representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed for his selfless service to the course of humanity, effective representation, and for his contribution to the development of Igala Students within and outside Kogi State.

The award which was presented by the ISA president, Comr. Shaibu Anthony and other executives eugloise him as an Igala son and as a representative who has done well in providing dividends of democracy to his people. He was also appreciatedfor flagging off the biggest water project tagged "Operation Water for all", which most communities has benefited in his constituency.

Hon. Ahmed in his response thank the students for finding him worthy of an award. He advised them to be of good conduct both in character and learning, to live peacefully and charged them to give the State government their total support, adding that it was only by so doing that the state would grow faster.

The Science Quiz Competition organised for Students in Ankpa LGA at St. Charles College, was greeted by so many people who troop in to see the display of academic knowledge of our teeming youths in Ankpa LGA. The competition was strongly contested among Ten (10) secondary schools viz; Comsaldocg’s College Ankpa, Aleka Academy Ankpa, Global College Ankpa, St Charles College Ankpa, Redeemer Secondary School Ankpa, Community Sec. School, Demonstration Sec School, Unity Comprehensive Sec school, Dynamic International Group of School, Ankpa LGA Special Day Sec. School, and Govt. Girls Sec. School Okaba. The Science subjects selected for the quiz programmes are Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
