Democracy Day: Hon. Ahmed Mohammed Congratulates President Buhari


Dear President Muhammadu Buhari.

I join Millions of Nigerians to congratulate you as you begin another journey as President of Federal Republic of Nigeria. Your re-election is a testimony to the level of confidence that you enjoy among the people of Nigeria, attributable to your wisdom, experience in politics, sense of engagement and devotion to the service and the protection of the interests of the country especially as they relate to the prosperity, wellbeing and security of our people.

Nigerians believe in you and have resolved to be taken to the Next Level. It was a keenly contested election, but i am glad that we attained virtually non violent solution that has been applauded by many. I have no iota of doubt that, as you begin another fresh journey in our democracy, this will afford you the opportunity to consolidate on the socio-economic progress you have commenced in the past four years.

I am confident that the peace and the on going development in the Niger Delta in terms of the infrastructural development, human capital development through the Presidential Amnesty Programme, N-POWER, Tradermoni, market money and the Pipeline Surveillance would be sustained and consolidated for enduring peace.

On behalf of the people of my constituency, (Ankpa 1) i extend our sincere congratulations even as we wish you every success in performing the important and responsible duties of repositioning this country to the next level.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
