Kogi Deputy Speaker Donate Motorcycles to APC Executives, Supporters in Ankpa LGA

APC Executives reaffirmed support to GYB reelection, thank the Deputy Speaker for his support to the party, Constituents.

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed yesterday, hosted the Executives of the All Progressive Congress - APC Ankpa District to discuss critical issues as it affect the party, and preparations ahead of Primary elections.

The legislator who spoke at the event urge the party Excos to be committed to the affairs of the party and avoid anti party activities. He gave a breakdown of his legislative activities and unveil his plans for the future and how it will benefit its people and the party.

The Deputy Speaker in his magnanimity, donated Motorcycles and to the Ward Chairmen in each of the wards. This is to enable them carry out their jobs diligently.
Five of his supporters were also surprised with a gift of Motorcycle

The Ankpa LGA Administrator Hon. Chief John Aduga, APC party chairman Ankpa LGA, Hon. Alh. Abdullahi Zakari, Kogi State APC women leader Hajiya Rabi Haruna, and other party stalwarts present expressed their gratitude to the loyal party men. The Administrator assures them of his unalloyed support.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
