One Year in Office: Hon. Idris Musa Congratulates Ododo on One Year of Impactful Service.



Kogi State's former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Idris Musa (Danjuma Oando), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, on his first year in office as the duly elected governor of Kogi State.

Hon. Idris, who currently serves as a Director of the Kogi State Solid Mineral Processing Company Limited, commended Governor Ododo's administration for its impactful governance and unprecedented developmental strides over the past year, particularly in prioritizing workers' welfare, human capital development, and the significant improvements in healthcare, education, security, and infrastructural development.

Hon. Idris Musa acknowledged that Governor Ododo has upheld the trust bestowed upon him by the vast majority of Kogi voters and that his administration has successfully built upon the progress achieved during the tenure of his predecessor, His Excellency, Alh. Adoza Yahaya Bello.

In his statement, Hon. Idris Musa said, "I want to congratulate His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on his one year of impactful service in the state. His administration has justified the confidence reposed on him by the vast majority of Kogi voters that voted him in the last election; we can see that his administration is consolidating on the gains of the previous administration of His Excellency, Alh. Adoza Yahaya Bello."

Hon. Idris further extolled Governor Ododo's policies aimed at optimizing the mining sector in the state by enforcing mining companies' adherence to environmental standards and fostering positive relationships with host communities through the fulfillment of their Community Development Agreement (CDA) obligations.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
