Kogi Deputy Speaker appoint Legislative Aides, Issues Appointment letters


Congratulations  to the legislative aides of the Deputy Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed as they received appointment letters.

The presentation was done yesterday Monday July 29th, 2019 at his hometown Abache in Ankpa LGA. Friends, relatives and family members were all on ground to rejoice with their loved ones.

The Chief Imam of Ankpa LGA and Chairman, Council of Ulama'u Kogi State, Sheiqh Alh. Salman Aadam was also on ground to offer his prayers and blessings to the energetic honorable and the appointed legislative aides.

The names of the appointed aides are;

1. Prince Tijani Dauda as Special Adviser on Legislative Matters to the Deputy Speaker

2. Sunday Obaje as the Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration) to the Deputy Speaker

3. Suleiman Yahaya As the Chief Press Secretary

4. Suleiman Mohammed as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Speaker

5. Abdulhamid Kazeem as the Personal Assistant to the Deputy Speaker

6. Friday Omachi as Personal Assistant II to the Deputy Speaker

7. Senusi Umar as the Special Assistant II to the Deputy Speaker.

Other appointments will be announced in due course

The appointment takes effect from 6th of June, 2019.

The State Legislator gave an assurance that, more are still coming to join the train.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.
