Kogi's Political Transfer Window: Hon. Karma Olachene Abubakar Joins the SDP

Amid the intensifying game of Kogi politicking, several key players are now considering transfers from one political party to another, particularly signing deals with the popular SDP, which is currently winning the political battle.
In a strategic move to strengthen his political career, Hon. Karmar Olachene Abubakar has successfully completed his transfer from the PDP. Despite being tempted with enticing offers from the ruling champions, the APC, he chose to align himself with the victorious SDP. This pre-season political transfer illustrates a sign of triumph for the SDP.
This migration comes as a major blow to the ruling party, who had anticipated his arrival and that of the Ododo candidacy, hoping to secure their support.

It's undoubtedly a boost for the SDP, as it strengthens their defense. Hon. Olachene brings with him extensive political experience. His presence will make it difficult for his former party to score against the SDP.

Undoubtedly, more players from Hon. Olachene's former party will join him before the final match scheduled for 11/11/23.
Onlookers are impressed by his decision to switch clubs, leaving his former party and declining the defending champions' offers. The champions have failed to pay allowances, arrears, salaries, and other bonuses since 2018.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
