Hon. Danjuma Oando; a man so passionate about his People (Part 1)

It is a clear fact that the human society is blessed with a large array of well trained, highly intelligent and resourceful individuals in all spheres of human endeavours who have blazed the trail and distinguished themselves as shining role models in their life. Indeed, throughout the ages, history furnishes us with thousands of inspiring example of great men who have blaved the turbulent storms of life, hacked down odds with their bare hands and have risen to become an icons and a doyens in their respective choosen career or business.

At a time like this when our society and generation are in dire need  of men of unblemished integrity, men who are prepared to sacrifice their time, energy and deploy their God given resources, talent and wisdom for the common good of the society, it is interesting to note that Ankpa II is blessed with role models who are determined to leave their foot prints on the sand of time.

Honourable Musa Idris Danjuma (Oando), an erudite personality, a distinguished citizen, and above all a God fearing personality by all standards, belong to the role - call of great achievers who have been enlisted by divine Providence and destiny to play leading role for their society and generation. Like all men of destiny, Danjuma Oando left nothing to chance in his diligence and focused quest to become somebody the society could one day look up to for leadership. Alhaji Idris Musa Danjuma has become a colossus and a rallying point of unity for his people, who have continue to look up to him for their socio-economic and political emancipation. One aspect of his life that endeared him so much to his community is his philanthropic gesture and nature, his prompt responsed to their needs, he is a compassionate humanitarian whose life has been dedicated to the pursuit of justice and service to his people, State and Local government. Musa Idris Danjuma Oando has a natural talent for focusing on others, he is genuine and constant, he is kind and compassionate, he has an unflagging and high minded commitments to the generation behind him, all these traits of his are the reason why the people of Ankpa II constituency are demanding and calling him to served them, to them he is the most trusted leader, the  people who are so impoverished due to the insensitivity of successive leaders or representative to the development of the constituency. It is sad that since democracy was restored successive representatives to the State Assembly from the constituency had not executed any meaninfull people oriented projects and initiative solutions to problems their people are encountering, they have failed to meet the aspirations of the people, citizen are so disappointed and are demanding for progressive leaders that will change the course of history. Musa Idris having done alots for his people with his God given resources without any political influence, the act which has convinced the people of Ankpa II constituency that he is a better asset and he is someone who is willing to listen to the needs of the common people and will represent them faithfuly, he has been seen that he is of strong character, with both conscience and charisma, Danjuma Oando's selflessness, forth-rightness, sacrifice and sincerity of purpose are unequal compared to his peers, he is an exceptional sincere humanist, a fair and incorruptible personality, a most ideological level headed politician, a citizen whose commitment to his fellow citizens is emphatic and total, Danjuma has an intuitive understanding of his people, he is a team player whose desired and willingness to contribute to the improvement and development of others and Ankpa will no doubt give a new lease of lives at the expense of compromising the downthroden, Idris Musa has truly choosed a committed devotion to his people and homeland. The key goals which drive Oando political ambition and activities is to find a way to positively Impacts people's lives and to give to the society what it deserves. It can not be over emphasize that the people of Ankpa II constituency comprises of Enjema and Ojoku needs good roads, portable water, constant power supply, decent health facilities and better living condition; all these can only be achieved by voting a honest, God fearing and courageous man like Oando who is filled with love and he is dedicated to the improvement of the decay and wane conditions of his constituent.

As 2019 election is coming closer, Danjuma Oando is under much pressure from members of his Constituency and people in his State to contest again. Those dragging him argued that its time the Ankpa II (Enjema and Ojoku) vote for a leader that is dependable, courageous, highly focus and above all have the fear of God with an innovative mind for the overall development of the constituency.

Although, Alhaji Idris Musa Danjuma (Oando) has an unquenchable passion to liberate his people and his constituency. In 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015, he answered and succumbed to the same pressure from his people and contested in an election that everything was apparently clear that he would emerge winner. But those who see ruling Kogi State as an exclusive birth right of their or they are the only cock that should crow in their community always had a grand plot that saw him been systematically rigged out severaly; and those who have no clue as to the essence of governance continue to be allowed to to milks dry what is to be utilized for the development of the constituency, while the citizens continue to wallow in an abject poverty and the constituency has continue to be taking aback in developmental front. The bad electoral process was one of the factor which those who hijacked Ankpa politics used it advantage to pulled Oando down, the electoral process then was neither free nor fair.

But, in in 2015 that electoral system and process has been improved by Prof. Attahiru Jega led Inec, Danjuma Oando contested, it was a contest between two home boys and brothers, but, unfortunately, what supposed to be Primary election became Primary Selection of a Party, APC which her motto reads Justice, Unity and Peace. There was no primary election but there was a winner. Danjuma again has been deprived of Party's ticket to general election, still as a party loyal man and a humble person, he supported the of his party to general election despite pressure from his supporters to approach the court. He console his supporters, in his own words to them 
"The leaders of our Party has taken their decision and we can not be a house divided against itself, what is important now is how to ensure the Party's victory at coming general election. I believed, I and the person nominated have the common ambition for our constituency, we are not going to challenge any body in court, it is needless as that will give the opposing party evidence against our Party, and can also distract whoever win from delivery dividends to our constituent" He thearefter, directed his supporters to support the consensus candidate nominated.

As 2019 election is fast approaching all indications shows that he has succumbed to the clamour and pressure from his people and his political acolytes to declare interest to contest for State Assembly, Ankpa II constituency. The question now is, can he get the target this time around, now that the electoral process  has made it compulsory for Parties to conduct Primaries? Could he be the next Abraham Lincoln and President Muhammad Buhari? Who after contested election severaly  before eventually win. 2019 shall unfold the answer.
