Ankpa LGA: Hon. Ahmed Mohammed inspect Primary Health Care Oji-Apata in Ankpa LGA. Promise speedy intervention.

Yesterday Sunday 21st October 2018, the Honorable member representing Ankpa I State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of Kogi State house of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed on his way to Lokoja after spending the weekend at his hometown attending to constituents, stopped by youths along Oji-Apata and they pleaded with him to bring back their only means of health care to life. The Primary health care centre which is the only one that serves Oji-Apata, and other neighbouring communities is completely empty with no medical facilities, no staff and it has been abandoned.

He took his time to go round the hospital and resolved with the community, the only nurse present to make a list of everything they needed and submit to him today (Monday 22nd October 2018) for speedy intervention.
I am appealing to you to make a full list of the things the Health care will need and make sure it gets to me tomorrow (Monday) So that we can make progress. I will also write to the State government on this; he said.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
