Ankpa LGA: Hon. Ahmed Mohammed receives decampees from APDA, SDP and PDP


The fortunes of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ankpa I constituency has continued to grow as more members of other political parties and groups have swell its ranks.

The Deputy Majority Leader of KGHA while receiving decampees on Saturday 20th October 2018 at his hometown Abache-Ankpa LGA, members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP),  the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and others all formally collapsed their structures for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
They pointed out the exemplary leadership style of Hon. Ahmed Ahmed as the reason for their decisions to ditch their old political parties.

In his brief remarks, he  promised to sustain the delivery of effective representation to the peoole of Ankpa I State Constituency, and at all levels protect the interest of the party and its candidates from the Presidency, Governorship, National and State Assembly.

He also promised them of full inclusion into the party and its activities, saying that he will communicate with other stakeholders to fully receive them and their supporters officially to the party.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
