Kogi Disability law: Group paid Hon. Ahmed Mohammed visit, appreciate his effort.

The Senior special assistant, SSA, to the governor on disability matters, Hon. Hassan Ahmodu led a delegation of people with disabilities in Kogi State to pay courtesy visit to the Member representing Ankpa I State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of Kogi State house of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed to appreciate him for his effort, being the first and major sponsor of the bill for the right of people with disabilities in Kogi State, a Bill which was passed by the State Assembly recently.

Receiving the delegation in his home, the SSA describes Hon. Ahmed Mohammed as a man who is for all, noting that he has given the deaf community a sense of belonging in the society by starting this campaign on the floor of the house. Ahmodu Hassan said: “The disability community is a vulnerable group, but Hon. Ahmed Ahmed loves and cares for the members. He is the first person to show us love anywhere he sees us. We are here today to simply thank you for your effort and to pray with you and your family.

Hon. Ahmed Mohammed in his remark, appreciates the Co-sponsors, partners and frontiers to the success of the bill, her Excellency, the wife of the governor of Kogi State, and the Majority Leader of the house, he describe the law as "Law for special people" in the society.

"The bill when assented to by the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, will protect the rights of disabled persons in the state. The establishment of the commission would enhance the rights of physically challenged persons and give them a sense of belonging to contribute their quota to the development of the state." The bill was subjected to all the legislative process before it was passed, and various stakeholders overwhelmingly supported the establishment of the commission during public hearing on the bill." He said.

He also appreciate the governor for recognizing and continues to empower disable people who are involved in private economic ventures. He assured them of the Governors readiness to assent to the bill as it concerns special people in the state.

Residents of Ubelle/Allor Community Commend Kogi Deputy Speaker for Grading/Opening Abandoned road.

The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, who is also a member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has received commendations, prayers and words of encouragement from the people of Ubelle and Allor community, as equipments arrived and have started opening and grading of the major rural road. The road which passes from Ubelle to Allor has long been abandoned and not accessible.
