2019 Election: ANKPA ELDERS FORUM ENDORSE HONORABLE AHMED MOHAMMED

The elders and stakeholders of Ankpa LGA under the umbrella of Ankpa District Elders Forum unanimously threw its weight behind the honourable member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency for the good work he is doing. They highlighted some of the key achievements of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed which include; flag-off of one of the most biggest water project so far in the history of Kogi State being embark upon by a legislator, which is tagged "Operation Water for all, that has provided water to many communities in Ankpa district, award of scholarship to students, rehabilitation of schools, his skill acquisition and entrepreneurship scheme that is taking the  youths off the streets, among others.

Speaking at the event, an elder statesman, Chief Dr. Egene Adah acknowledged the selfless service and invaluable contributions of the Deputy Majority Leader, describing him as a wonderful servant to the  people. He scored him high on performance.

"He is doing a spectacular job. We must commend him for his ability and we are very satisfied with his performance so far. With the achievements recorded so far, I want to assure that we have confidence in your administration and we are with you anyday, anytime".

Elders who spoke also commend him for strengthening the bond of unity, by carrying everybody along irrespective of party, fostering the spirit of oneness, enhancing development and promoting good governance in Ankpa LGA. and more importantly his vibrancy on the floor of the house, his vital motions and bills sponsored, that has direct impact on the people.

Hon. Ahmed while appreciating the leaders for thier support, he appreciates their support, love and prayers and assures them of his support. In his words; " I swore an oath to represent my people and that is one I must do to the best of my ability. The resources that is meant for Ankpa 1 must work for Ankpa people. I thank you for always being there for me and Insha Allah I shall not let you down.

Prayer sessions were held and he received the blessings of the royal fathers and elders.

The Science Quiz Competition organised for Students in Ankpa LGA at St. Charles College, was greeted by so many people who troop in to see the display of academic knowledge of our teeming youths in Ankpa LGA. The competition was strongly contested among Ten (10) secondary schools viz; Comsaldocg’s College Ankpa, Aleka Academy Ankpa, Global College Ankpa, St Charles College Ankpa, Redeemer Secondary School Ankpa, Community Sec. School, Demonstration Sec School, Unity Comprehensive Sec school, Dynamic International Group of School, Ankpa LGA Special Day Sec. School, and Govt. Girls Sec. School Okaba. The Science subjects selected for the quiz programmes are Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
