Christmas Celebration: Hon. Ahmed Mohammed send goodwill messages

Honorable Ahmed Mohammed of Ankpa 1 constituency has felicitated with Nigerians, Kogites and particularly the people of his constituency as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

He called on the Christian brothers and Sisters to rededicate themselves to the service of humanity in line with the true teachings of Jesus Christ which emphasises tolerance, patience, brotherly kindness, care for the needy and love for one another, among other virtues.

In a brief goodwill message posted on his Facebook page, He urged residents and travellers to be safety and security conscious, especially during the festive period and refrain from habits that could endanger their lives.

He said: "The season of Christmas is one that exemplifies the virtues of love and peaceful co-existence and we must continue to extend hand of love, benevolence and live as one family irrespective of our creed or colour. Let us cultivate the habit of giving to those who need our help at this time; it would go a long way to put smile on their faces.

May I remind the good people of Ankpa 1 Constituency that the task of making a new Ankpa can only be achieved when we work together as one. It is a long and arduous task that demands a sacrifice from everyone, but I have no doubt that together we will realize our goal of a new and greater constituency we hoped for.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.
