ANKPA: IGBO COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION HOST HON. AHMED MOHAMMED

Yesterday 16th January 2018 was a new dawn and another historic moment as a stronger tie between the IGALAs and IGBOs are built in Ankpa LGA, courtesy of Honorable Ahmed Mohammed.

The Deputy Majority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly, who was received by large crowd of Igbo elders and stakeholders to a reception organized to appreciate him for his kind gesture, selfless service and has so far made his constituency proud and has represented well on the floor of the house.

The ceremony was declared open with breaking of Kolanut by the Igwe, His royal highness, Chief F U Chukwuemeka.

In his speech, he applaud the honorable for his kind gesture towards everyone irrespective of where he/she comes from. In his words; "Honorable Ahmed Mohammed is a pragmatic young leader who sees leadership very differently, he has tried to carry everybody along with him. We also want to use to opportunity to thank you for recognizing three of our children who benefitted in your Education Support Program Scholarship Scheme. You are indeed a leader with a sense of responsibility and providing for the people the things they need to make life worth living".

The Igwe, who went further to task him not to be distracted on his good works, also quoted saying; "I came to Ankpa in 1972, I settled and got married in 1973 and I have lived all my life in Ankpa. After the indigenes, we the Igbos have the highest popularity. This community loves us, and so far we have never seen a representative like you. Nobody recognises us, we want to thank you for remembering us during the festive season with donation of food items and a Cow. We are indeed grateful.

Ahmed Ahmed, in his remarks thank the Igbo community, most especially the youths who, despite all the political hits and the APC tsunami in 2015, believed him, came out to support and vote for him. He further spoke; "I am aware of all your support and the intimidations your people were subjected to for supporting me during the last election. I knew the Igbos are people with foresight who have seen that we are ready to serve the people, and they've never hidden their love for me. I want to thank you all for your love and I assure you today we shall work together to move Ankpa forward, you are all stakeholders.

The Chairman, Kogi East Elders Advisory Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje was also present at the reception. He prayed that God will continually replenish his Majesty the Igwe, protect his crown and also call for more unity and love between Igala's and the Igbo's in Ankpa LGA. He also commended honorable Ahmed Mohammed for his exemplary leadership style so far at the house of assembly, saying that the years of anguish of the people of Ankpa in search of a credible leader is over. For a state legislator to provide over 35 portable borehole to different communities in his community, aside other projects executed is something that must be applauded and encouraged. I want to assure you that, we are with you anytime, anyday, he said.

Residents of Ubelle/Allor Community Commend Kogi Deputy Speaker for Grading/Opening Abandoned road.

The Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, who is also a member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has received commendations, prayers and words of encouragement from the people of Ubelle and Allor community, as equipments arrived and have started opening and grading of the major rural road. The road which passes from Ubelle to Allor has long been abandoned and not accessible. While visiting the communities that were badly affected by constant rainfall and erosion, the legislator assures the community that measures will be taken to ensure that, the major access road that link Ubelle to Allor which was long abandoned shall be open to make movement of their goods and other economic activities easier.
