Second Year Anniversary Celebration: Hon. Ahmed Mohammed send goodwill messages

As Kogi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello celebrate the 2nd year anniversary of its administration, the Deputy Majority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly and Member representing Ankpa 1 State constituency, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed have issued congratulatory message expressing optimism on the future, saying that Kogi State is meant for greatness and would overcome all challenges.

Speaking with journalist this morning in Lokoja the State Capital, he stressed the importance of unity in the process of building up "the Kogi of our dreams".

He commend the state government for carrying out developmental projects in various LGA in Kogi State, and also the attention giving to the agricultural sector which is yielding positive results. He said that in the past few years, nobody was talking about Agriculture in the state, but today and very soon, we shall compete with other states in terms of production. All these point out the fact that the state is moving to the fast lane of development and growth.

Ahmed Ahmed, also call on the youths to preach love and live peacefully. In his words; "We must  continue to shun individuals or groups that encourage, preach and practice division among our people. We must shun every harbinger of hate and bond together as a people of common interest and destiny. As legislators we will continue to do our part to wit; provide the needed legislative framework for the Executive Arm of Government to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people. We may not have been where we want to be but we have made appreciable progress and we can do more. All we need to do is to strengthen our unity as one people with one mission and purpose. The stable democracy has offered us opportunity to harness our abundant resources for good.

Honorable Ahmed Mohammed wishes his Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and Kogites of goodwill divine grace, boundless fulfilment, more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the State and successful  anniversary.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
