Finally, Dino Melaye Meets His Nemesis

Image
By Phrank Shaibu The name Dino Melaye, or simply called, Dino, gained unparalleled and national attention when the man was in the House of Representatives. It is a name that became associated with brigandage, rascality and unimaginable notoriety. Indeed, mischief could be said to be another word you could never dismiss each time the name is mentioned. Of course, those who were with him in the Ahmed Bello University (ABU), Zaria where he was mainly regarded and treated as a “hired thug” knew the heights the man could go to achieve his objective. But most of his fellow students in the university thought they had seen the worst of the “hired thug” then. It was therefore a great surprise to see their Ex-student in the House of Representatives displaying the same pranks for which he was very notorious in the university. Their surprise knew no bounds when they further discovered that there was no letting up in his capacity for mischief. It was not difficult to spot D...

THE SEARCH FOR TYAZPROMEXPORT AND THE NIGERIAN SOCIAL MEDIA YOUTH By Dr. Arome Okeme

Image
Over the past few weeks a lot of news have made headlines on many ‘mediaphere’ in Nigeria. One of such news is the imbroglio entwined in the AJAOKUTA steel integrated plant Saga. A lot of questions have been asked by various sections of Nigerians, most calling on government to re-engage the original builders, and others, who have very little knowledge about the activities surrounding the grounding of the plant, being ignorant or indifferent. Questions of whether the original builders are still in existence and possessed the requisite wherewithal to complete the project is sadly gaining popularity, whereas a more germane question would have been whether they were willing to still partner Nigeria to complete the project or not, and not of their existence and competence. A little history of the Soviet Union may provide light as to whether this Russian company still exists or not. Soviet Russia, as Russia before the USSR was known, was a dynasty headed by a Tsar. Image
Ankpa 1 Constituency and the need for Hon. Ahmed Mohammed again and again by Comrade. Omale Danjuma The choice before Ankpa I Constituency in the coming State Assembly election is simple; A choice between going forward or going backwards, between the new ways and the old ways, between freedom and repression; between a record of visible achievements and beneficial reforms - and desperate power-seekers with empty promises which an ordinary old woman in the village knows. Therefore, the need for the continuity of Hon. Ahmed Mohammed at the Kogi State House Of Assembly will further bring more of his peoples oriented projects to the constituency and it beholds on us to jettison stereotypes and prejudice and do the needful in making sure that Hon.
