I Will Do Everything Possible To Bring Development To My Area – Kogi Deputy Speaker


The Deputy Speaker of Kogi Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has assured the people of his constituency to do everything within his power and the law in bringing new development to his constituency. He stated this during a courtesy visit paid to him by various stakeholders of his constituency in solidarity for his new office.

 He said his new office as the deputy speaker, was a welcome development, and a call to service which according to him, he  will use to do everything within his capacity and the law in ensuring that we get the best out of the present government.

 “It is time for the people of Ankpa LGA to join hands together and work as one to ensure that Governor Yahaya Bello wins comes November 2019 general election to enable him unveil more positive infrastructural projects for Ankpa LGA. The Governor has tried for our people, our Township road has been a death trap for years, but after so many calls, request and motions I moved regarding the road, today he demonstrated full capacity. Our road has been fixed, our central mosque now competes with top three in Kogi East. His reelection will be a dawn for more projects to be completed for the benefit of the people of Ankpa LGA.”

 He however appreciates the speaker and the principal leaders as well as the entire members of the assembly for the support they had given to him by nominating and electing him as Deputy Speaker, KGHA.

 Also Speaking at the solidarity visit, the Administrator of Ankpa LGA, Hon. John Aduga appreciates Governor Yahaya Bello, the speaker and all members of the assembly for electing Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed as the deputy speaker, as this has paved way for them to become closer to the government and this will lead to successful development in their area.

The competition was strongly contested among Ten (10) secondary schools viz; Comsaldocg’s College Ankpa, Aleka Academy Ankpa, Global College Ankpa, St Charles College Ankpa, Redeemer Secondary School Ankpa, Community Sec. Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
