Chieftaincy Title: Kogi Deputy Speaker Congratulate Gov. Bello, Edward Onoja, & Folashade Ayoade Arike, Commend Igala Monarch



The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ankpa I constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has sent a message of congratulations to his Excellency the Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello on his chieftaincy title as Oga-onu-ogu Attah Igala kingdom (OIK) (Edeee), his Deputy Governor and running mate, His Excellency Chief Edward Onoja as Olimene Attah Igala kingdom (OIK) (Doogaa), and also the SSG Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike  Ayoade as Omiakeli-Attah Igala Kingdom (Adebuu)

The State Legislator who describes the conferment on the Governor as well deserved, says it came at the right time, in recognition of Governor Bello's contributions to the development of the state.

He reiterate his commitment to the Government of Kogi State and New Direction policies; assures of total victory in the forthcoming general election. He also called on Kogi people to take advantage of Governor's style of inclusive administration to work together, and support the Governor for the peace, unity and progress of the state.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
