Kogi Deputy Speaker set to fulfill campaign promises to Omagajiya Women of Udama District, to build a TownHall in Okenyi - Ankpa LGA.
 

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ankpa I constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed as put in place all necessary arrangements to officially begin the building of a giant hall for Women of Udama Kingdom in Ankpa ward two. The hall which will be used for TownHall meetings, and other social event was among the request made by the women from Udama District which comprises of Uboŕji community, Amoke Community, Ótondoŕ, Aguyaya and other neighboring communities.

The Deputy Speaker gave a hint that, all is set for the ground breaking and official block laying for the building to kick-start on Saturday 19th October, 2019. He therefore wishes to invite sons and daughters from Udama District to join him in making this historic event.
The women who expresses their joy, assures him of their utmost support and prayers,  and also to mobilize massively to their respective polling centres to ensure that,  Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello emerges victorious in the November Gubernatorial election

The competition was strongly contested among Ten (10) secondary schools viz; Comsaldocg’s College Ankpa, Aleka Academy Ankpa, Global College Ankpa, St Charles College Ankpa, Redeemer Secondary School Ankpa, Community Sec. School, Demonstration Sec School, Unity Comprehensive Sec school, Dynamic International Group of School, Ankpa LGA Special Day Sec. School, and Govt. Girls Sec. School Okaba. Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
