Kogi Deputy Speaker congratulates Chief of Staff, says "BellOnoja ticket is best bet for Kogi and APC"


The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Ankpa 1 constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed congratulate Chief Edward David Onoja, on his nomination as the running mate to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to emerge as the 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, who is being described by the Deputy Speaker as "Kogi East political commander", said the role played by Edward Onoja in 2015 General elections which brought Buhari/Osinbajo, and also in 2019 general elections which our great party, the APC recorded over ninety percent success, and his political traits, humanitarian and selfless services makes him the best choice and the man for the job.

Recall that Hon. Edward Onoja was the Director General of the Kogi State APC Campaign Council for the 2019 general elections which sees the party recording tremendous success in the field; Two out of Three Senators, Seven out of Nine Federal House of Representatives Members and a Twenty Five out of Twenty Five House of Assembly seats.

The Deputy Speaker urged the people of Kogi East and the state in general to rally round the candidacy of Bello/Edward describing it as a divine path for Kogites and people of goodwill.

Breaking News: Muri/SDP floors ODODO as Supreme Court grants stay of execution

In a significant development, the Supreme Court has issued a stay of execution on the orders of the Court of Appeal, which were previously granted on March 1st, 2024. These orders had set aside the inspections conducted by the Petitioners, as well as orders G, K, and N of the Tribunal's orders from November 25th, 2023. The legal team representing the Petitioners, led by Chief J.S. Okutepa SAN and including Shaibu Enejoh Aruwa SAN and other lawyers, passionately argued for the stay during today's hearing, expressing concern over the irreversible damage the Court of Appeal's orders would inflict on their clients. Responding to their plea, the Supreme Court granted the interim stay and ordered relief in accordance with the motion filed on March 5th, 2024. The hearing on the motion on notice has now been adjourned to March 11th, 2024.

Breaking: Fresh Petition Accuse Yahaya Bello, Ododo of stealing over N300 Billion Local Government Funds

A fresh petition before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has accused former Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello and his successor, Usman Ododo, of conniving with others to either loot or misappropriate over N300Billion allocation to the 21 Local Governments of the state between May 2016-January 2024. On Wednesday, operatives of EFCC had stormed Bello’s residence in Abuja in an attempt to arrest him over an ongoing fraud investigation. But Ododo arrived the former Governor’s residence and helped him to evade arrest by smuggling him out. However, the fresh petition listed all the 21 immediate past Local Government Chairmen who served during Bello as co-conspirators in the looting of the over N300billion LG funds. The petition signed by a group known as Kogi Conscience stated that in 2016, N23.1billion was received as Kogi Local Govt Allocations and in 2018, N43.6billion was received.
