Ankpa day celebration: Kogi Deputy Speaker calls for unity of purpose among indigenes. Supports ICF with 500,000 for developmental projects.
The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly & member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency has reiterated the need for the indigenes of Ankpa LGA to close ranks and work together in unity for the progress of the land and the future of her citizens.
He made his remark in his speech to mark the Ankpa day celebration which is organized annually by Ankpa Sons and Daughters under the umbrella of Igala Consultative Forum - ICF Ankpa chapter. In his words; " I feel delighted to grace todays occasion as this is an opportunity for us as a people to come together, and i use this time to preach peace and unity amongst us - be your brothers’ keeper and pray always for God’s guidance as we hope to celebrate together again next seasons.
He gave kudos to the organizers for coming up and maintaining this yearly, noting that Ankpa is blessed with an enviable, rich and spectacular cultural heritage which deserves to be protected and supported by all sons and daughters both home and abroad.
He made a donation of the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000) to support ICF and proposed projects for the development of Ankpa LGA
The Ankpa Day celebration is one of its unique kind that breeds peace amongst the people, unite them and rekindle our traditional practices. It provides opportunity for our children the opportunity to understand our custom, culture and traditions.
