Light Up Kogi East Project: Kogi Deputy Speaker Commends Gov. Bello for keeping to his promise; says it is a covenant made and fulfilled.

The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed on behalf of the people of his constituency - Ankpa 1 sends a message of appreciation to his Excellency Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for keeping faith with the promise of electrifying Kogi East, noting that the project would go a long way in making life meaningful for the people of the area.

The over N2b Operation Light up Kogi East Project which is over 80% completed, would lift energy from Ajaokuta across the Niger River to all Kogi East Local Government. This has been a project in nightmare for long by previous administrations.
The State Legislator commends the Governor for ensuring that Contractors are paid and necessary equipment such as cables, transformers, transmitters and others procured. He noted that, the New Direction Government and policies has always targeted the needs and wants of the downtrodden. The lighting up of Kogi East will booster economic activities and will surely last beyond this administration and will remain in people's minds eye; he said.
The Project Light Up Kogi East will include the upgrading of Itobe Bridge Cable by crossing, 150mm x 1 Core Cable to 300mm x Core cable. The 300mm cable can carry 45 MW load at maximum while the entire load of Kogi east currently stand at 25MW. The existing cable has loading capacity of 14.5 MW this obvious reason was responsible for the load shedding in Idah and Anyigba axis. With this development, there will be no more load shedding in Kogi East as it relate to cable capacity limitation
