The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honorable Ahmed Mohammed has congratulated winners of the All Progressive Congress National Assembly elections held at their respective Federal Constituencies and Senatorial Districts. In his brief message of felicitation at Idah, shortly after the victory of Sen. Jibrin Isah Echocho, he said the victory is a proof of his positive stewardship to the people of Kogi East, and has again, reaffirmed the general acceptance of our great party, by the great people of Kogi East. In his brief congratulatory message made available this morning, he commend the party stakeholders, LGA chairmen and aspirants for conducting a peaceful and organized process of choosing a candidate. He equally congratulate winners Ankpa 1 and Ankpa 2 constituency, Comrade Adukwu Emmanuel and Hon. Abbas Linco Ocheje. Ahmed Mohammed expressed shock over the fatal tanker explosion which occured at Felele this morning claiming lives of many and properties destroyed. The Deputy Speaker said he was saddened by the lives lost in the unfortunate incident and the pains it inflicted on families. In his words; “My heart goes out to all the victims of the fuel tanker explosion. This is the most horrendous way to die. I am too shocked and traumatized to express the depth of my grief for the victims of the explosion. We must try and reach out to the victims’ families who are affected by these avoidable deaths. The Deputy Speaker of Kogi House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.  Ahmed Mohammed, on Saturday urged the Federal and State Governments to empower youths to play active and constructive roles in governance. The Deputy Speaker made the call on Saturday in Lokoja at a forum organised by the Youth Development and Empowerment Initiative, an  NGO , as part of activities to mark the 2020 International Youth Day Celebration.
