The elders and stakeholders of Ankpa LGA under the umbrella of Ankpa District Elders Forum unanimously threw its weight behind the honourable member representing Ankpa 1 state constituency for the good work he is doing. Hassan Ahmodu led a delegation of people with disabilities in Kogi State to pay courtesy visit to the Member representing Ankpa I State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of Kogi State house of Assembly, Hon. Wednesday 19th December, 2018 From the Kogi State House of Assembly, MATTER OF URGENT PUBLIC IMPORTANCE CALLING ON THE STATE TO COME TO THE AID OF THE PEOPLE OF EJINYA-EFOFE IN ANKPA LGA OVER GULLY EROSION MENACE The Rt. Honourable speaker, Distinguish colleagues, over the years, the people of Ankpa 1 constituency has been badly threatened by Erosion Menace. This problem has affected agricultural productivity as our farms lands and crops have been washed away. Our houses, schools; places of worships, etc are all in serious threats. In fact, the greatest threat to the environmental setting of Ankpa LGA is the gradual but constant dissection of the landscape by gully erosion. The gully erosion at Ejinya-Efofe is so big that it can swallow an entire building. It has cut the major road that link to Ejinya-Abakpa, and other neighbouring communities. People find it difficult to visit other communities. We have more than 50 erosion sites in Ankpa LGA and these pose serious threats to lives...

The fortunes of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ankpa I constituency has continued to grow as more members of other political parties and groups have swell its ranks. Yesterday Sunday 21st October 2018, the Honorable member representing Ankpa I State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of Kogi State house of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed on his way to Lokoja after spending the weekend at his hometown attending to constituents, stopped by youths along Oji-Apata and they pleaded with him to bring back their only means of health care to life. The Primary health care centre which is the only one that serves Oji-Apata, and other neighbouring communities is completely empty with no medical facilities, no staff and it has been abandoned. He took his time to go round the hospital and resolved with the community, the only nurse present to make a list of everything they needed and submit to him today (Monday 22nd October 2018) for speedy intervention. I am appealing to you to make a full list of the things the Health care will need and make sure it gets to me tomorrow (Monday) So that we can make progress. On  Saturday 20th October 2018, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed of Ankpa I State Constituency and the Deputy majority leader of Kogi State house of Assembly flagged up the construction of a borehole for the people of Ubellè community in Ankpa LGA. Following the lead of President Muhammadu Buhari, who few months ago assented to the bill for an autonomy for the judiciary and state legislature,  Governor Bello signs the Bill granting autonomy of the State House of Assembly into Law making him one of the Governors to take early action on this. While assenting to the Bill, Governor Bello said the law would enhance the effective operations of the legislature. Other Bills signed into Law today are: A Bill for a law to make provision for a Contributory Pension Scheme for employees in the Public Service in Kogi State and other matters connected therewith 2018.
